Cindy Sofia maintans the highest level of standards and procedures for NJ PURE as their Claims Manager.

Cindy Sofia is a distinguished professional with over 20 years of health care experience. She has worked as a Registered Nurse, Medical Auditor and Case Manager in medical and hospital settings, as well as serving as President of her own health care consulting firm, Sofia Associates. Cindy has also served as NJ PURE's Loss Control Risk Manager.

Ms. Sofia's demonstrated abilities include medical treatment documentation reviews, quality assurance, risk management, medical records auditing, HEDIS assessment, compliance auditing, managed care case management, electronic chart review and practice site reviews. As NJ PURE's Loss Control Risk Manager she assisted physicians in understanding what the risks were to them and, if necessary, implemented some controls to reduce those risks. She provided services to our physicians such as educational seminars, online courses, practice assessments and chart evaluations.

Ms. Sofia excels at combining her 15 years of experience working in the insurance industry with the knowledge of health care business practices and health care management principles to strategically investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve medical malpractice claims. There is a continuous effort to help decrease the possibility of unforeseen losses and the impact of those that do occur. Cindy utilizes critical thinking and solid judgment to solve problems, make decisions and resolve complex issues inherent in handling losses, as well as the organization of activities throughout the claims management process.

Ms. Sofia graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was immediately recruited to work at New York Hospital, ranked among the nation's top hospitals. After a few years, she was elected to serve on the Quality Assurance Committee and collaborated daily with physicians and health care personnel to improve and achieve the maximum quality of health care for patients.
